I've been putting on rips of cool shit for the kiddos, stuff from The Vault.

I most recently showed The Dark Knight, so they could witness the awesomeness of Ledger's Joker.

I also ran Airplane!  and The Jerk.

I watched Couples Retreat last night.  It was pretty disappointing.  It was like two movies: one serious and one funny.  The serious movie sucked and dragged down the funny movie.  What you see in the previews is as good as the movie gets.

The Messengers. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a generous 12%.

I watched Zombieland with my sister and we both were cracking up the whole time. I loved the BM cameo. I thought the main character was too much like Paulie Bleeker from Juno. All in all it was a really fun movie. Thumbs up.

Watched the original Brewster's Millions (1945) with the kids.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0037557/
I saw it as a kid, but didn't remember much about it, beyond liking it better than the remake.
Was going to watch just a few minutes, waiting for Phineas & Ferb time, but the kids asked me not to change it.

Was super cool to spend a Saturday morning watching a movie with my kids that I probably watched on a Saturday morning with my mom or grandma.

"The Wind That Shakes the Barley"

It gives a good glimpse of how life would be living in a country that is occupied by another.

Here's an interesting endorsement of "The Dutchess"

http://mises.org/story/3763

Gotta look that one up.

Gotta look that one up.

That article tells a story that you don't really get much of in the movie.  The movie revolves almost entirely around her relationships and personal life, not her public life, accomplishments, etc.

Oh bummer. What a shame. Looks like room for a remake!

I wouldn't worry about it too much.  Keira Knightly is always fun to watch :)

Last night we watched a German film, Mostly Martha, recommended by someone my wife works with. I liked it better than I thought I would.
