Knowing

The idea for the story was pretty damned cool, but the screenplay kinda sucked.

Honestly, District 9 did not impress me at all.  The whole premise of the movie didn't make sense and they didn't even try to explain it.  Why would these aliens that are clearly physically and technologically superior to humans allow themselves to be treated like shit for 20+ years?  Nobody knows.  I certainly don't.  Also, beating me over the head with the South Africa thing and concentration camp references isn't necessary.  I can figure that out on my own, thank you very much.

District 9.

Loved it. It turns the whole alien invasion story on its head. I actually thought them leaving some stuff out made it more interesting. The film was done in a documentary/ investigatory journalist style, which leads me to believe that not all the answers were known by the person doing the documentary and they were being uncovered as the movie progressed.

The movie makes you wonder just like real life does, and makes you fill in the blanks with your own thoughts. For instance, why do people allow themselves to be treated like shit their entire lives? It makes you think 'if they only knew the power they had'.

Yeah but you are you. The general public likely does not know much about apartheid.

IMO, a must see.

Seraphim Falls,
I'm still not sure who was the bad guy and who was the good guy. Someone should have shot both main characters after an hour so the movie could have ended when it got boring.

Zack and Miri make a Porno,
Very funny. Very cute. Totally turned my wife off to even considering living on the East coast. The depiction of winter is exactly as my parents described living in NH.

The Boat That Rocked

Great movie about Pirate Radio in the 60's in Britain.  Plenty of libertarian quotes.  It was an enjoyable movie to watch.

2-hour pilot of Defying Gravity.

I think I like it. Maybe a lot. Will have to see what I think after watching the next couple episodes on the DVR.

Defying Gravity is, so far, an excellent show.

I wonder if it has any inspiration from this:

I'm liking it.   Great looking TV show, lets see how the story pans out.    Unlike the NBC show "Kings"
