The Expendables.

It was fun, predictable, and a high body count.

What I REALLY want to see is True Grit.  That looks fuckin' great.

just watched it
apparently, sly has a semi-auto handgun that is full auto & holds 120 rounds
mickey rourke is disturbing, as usual, and as the wife said......''yeah, but he's like a train wreck.....you hafta look''

Disturbing as in acting, or disturbing in his plastic malformed lizard face? Now I gotta watch this. I always liked the Mick.

I accidentally rented the absolutely terrible 2010 movie, The Bear.
Quote
An idyllic trip into bear country turns into a nightmare when the mini-van carrying two brothers and their partners suddenly blows a tire on a mountain road and rouses the attentions of one of the inhabiting Grizzly population. Defiantly, one of the brothers, Wall Street hot-shot Sam, pulls out a gun and kills the curious creature. Big mistake! As the group head on into the woods, the bear's mate, a ferocious eight-foot-tall Grizzly, arrives on the scene and attacks. Trapped inside their van, fighting for their lives, the group must use their wits and every last drop of survival instinct they have to escape a fierce showdown with the claws of death!

This film is so poorly made that in one key scene one of the production staff is plainly seen in the shot. I'm thinking, "Hey, dudes--why not ask that guy for help?"

Both.

These characters are comic book characters, in actual human skin.  The little Japanese Jet Li, the awesome and veiny Stallone.  They play off their stereotypes.

So what Mick Rourke does this aged veteran rockstar mercenary who is no longer in the biz.  But he's haunted, and has the scars to prove it.

Like the amplifier in Spinal Tap which goes to 11 and is therefore one louder, this movie goes to eleven.  Its not all that great, but the explosions are huge, and the all-star cast delivers maximum punishment to everything and everyone.

Its quite possibly the manliest movie of all time.  And the stupidest.

The Crying Game. Damn fine film, I think Dragline would dig it.

Last two episodes of The Walking Dead back-to-back. (Not movie exactly, but we've been watching two episodes at a time on our movie nights the last few weeks.)
I don't recommend this for late night viewing if you have to get up early the next morning.
Far better than I'd expected, and way the hell more disturbing.  Not easy to get to sleep after.

I'd like to check that show out. No cable & it isn't on Netflix (streaming anyway) yet.

I was surprised to find some GG Allin concert footage on there last night though. It's repetitive but good stuff if you liked GG. And for fans of the male physique, GG provides full frontal nudity. It's GG... so it's NSFW ;)

Thank ya!

Watched Valhalla Rising last night. It's a must-see. Not for the action that you see in the trailer (though those rare bits are excellent), but for the overall experience.. I guess that's how to describe it. Reminded me of Stalker, the old Russian film. Not in content but style.

Wag the Dog

I hadn't watched this since 9/11.

Chilling, in that context.
