You don't owe her anything. She's dead, remember? Dead people objectively cannot receive payment for services. They're dead.

By owe I mean acknowledge the contributions of.

I owe John Bonham a lot, too.

Other people I owe who are dead:

Aristotle
Tom Jefferson
Sam Adams
Mark Scott
John Ford
Adam Smith
Biggie Smalls Represent*
Snake Plissken
James Kirk
Barry Goldwater
John Wilkes Booth
Gus Fucking Grissom
The Duke

And many many more.

Oh, I see. I agree with the ones I bolded...can't say I like The Duke. He was a huge neocon.

I was under the impression Objectivism was simply basically the virtue of being selfish in everything. When you say objective in nature, what does that refer to?

Not so. It was basically a philosophical justification for minarchist Libertarianism from the ground up. She covered Metaphysics, Epistemology, Ethics, Politics, and Aesthetics. (Pretty much the whole shebang)

Her work in Epistemology was arguably her most important stuff. Politics was just a consequence of all the other stuff.

I love the woman and owe her a lot, but a hardon she will NEVER inspire.
I had Francois Tremblay tell me he masturbated to Ayn Rand once.

That dude is kinda freaky anyway. Of course, what with your tastes, I bet you can get people to confide some pretty interesting shit after you come clean.

You won't like Atlas Shrugged.  It will make you want to stop smoking dope, and Objecticist Bob Barr will suddenly seem like a reasonably good presidential candidate.  (Though I'm sure Ayn Rand would have preferred Wayne Allyn Root on top of the ticket.)

Thank you, I am still cautious as to how wordy the book seems like it is. I read some more preview pages online. Should be an interesting read nonetheless, it has been on my list for awhile but I have gotten sidetracked this summer reading some by Jack Kerouac.

So, Ayn Rand had a thing for cheap-ass, used car salesman?
