You do realize people quite often use the term "boy" to describe men just as many men call women "girls"? "Houseboy" is just a gay variation on "housewife".

I'm not at all sexually attracted to young boys. Never have been. Child characteristics are much closer to female traits than male traits. Gayness seems inherently non-pedo to me. Male traits don't really shine until maturity.

I can't say I'd completely rule it out if I was extremely confident the person was both fully able to consent and that it wouldn't harm them emotionally, but it doesn't seem a very likely occurance. Have I ever been physically attracted to someone who is under the legal age of consent? Of course. I think practically everyone has and I wouldn't believe them if they denied it. Puberty, i.e. onset of biological adulthood for most people starts well before that. That's when sexual characteristics develop. But I am FAR from obsessive over it and it sure ain't worth a jail sentence, a listing on a sex offender registry, or even drama with an angry dad.
I have openly stated many times that I'm against age of consent laws, but that's an almost completely meaningless statement coming from someone who doesn't believe in "laws". I'm pro-life but I don't believe in punishing women or doctors for abortions. Like Ian, I'm against setting a hard number, but unlike Ian, the rough number in my head is probably higher than his. It's just never that simple. For any particular individual the chosen number might be too high OR too low. I've said that I myself do not in retrospect feel that I was fully able to consent even at 16 and I am sure there are many whom I'd feel the same way about now.
I admit that I have of late been dating men younger than myself but they're still well into their adult lives, because yes, I'm older than I look and "younger than myself" ain't sayin' much.
Anyway, I don't think you are a pedo.

Yes, I realize I use it in the same playful manner that many men do when they say "girls" but are describing women, and not even necessarily young women. Stephanie should prolly give me a good talkin' to.
How are you defining "young boy"? Young boy and young male mean the same thing to me. I would put a 16yo is in that category.
Call me weird, but I most definitely would not refer to a young ADULT as a young BOY. Do I find young adults attractive sometimes? Yes. And I think most people do but don't act on it because it's just not the kind of thing that presents itself often unless you're putting yourself in weird (for your age) situations like hanging out in teen chat rooms or rollerskating rinks or just have a bunch of friends in that age range and you're the only older dood in the bunch, which is for sure kinda creepy and I knew someone like that in my teens. That dood was a pederast and apparently not a very emotionally mature guy, but he never showed any signs of being a pedophile.
I'll tell a story about him sometime when I'm feeling in a particularly loquacious mood and have the time.

Pederasts and pedophiles are lumped together for most people, and they just call them all pedophiles.
I know they do, and it's ridiculous. A pederast seems like a really immature and probably lonely, sad person with poor judgment and social skills and some issues they should probably seek therapy for. A pedophile is a dangerous predator on par with a rapist.
I had my own issues with a pederast (post age of consent) that left me inclined to blur the line as well, but I ultimately realized it was nothing that warranted treating him like a criminal. I was mostly just pissed that my friends didn't participate in a moderate degree of ostracism toward him for his behavior and instead treated me like the bad guy.

When I was that age, I though the 19-20yo that would hang out with us was old and weird. But he had a car.
That's just it. I don't make a point to hang out with teenagers and I wouldn't seek something like that out so it's a fairly unlikely scenario. But if a guy were of legal age and seemed to have his head screwed on really tight, I wouldn't consider it a big deal necessarily as long as expectations were clear. I'd prefer someone older with more potential for a real relationship so it would just be for fun. I dated a high school senior (legally, mind you) for a short time when I was twice his age, but he found me (with a Facebook app) and asked me out and I had no idea when we met that he was that young and still in high school. He didn't seem it. Also, he was about to graduate and go to college out of state so it was clear to both of us from the start that it was just temporary and for fun, and it was fun.
