No cable or DSL.....phone lines suck and phone modems usually connect at 24-26k. I think I connected at 33k once.

You can go the satellite route, but it is expensive, requires a long contract, and sucks for vpn access, or anything that requires a low latency.

When I checked on the price of a T1...it was about $1200 a month, and $700 of that was the local loop cost. 128k ISDN was $240 a month for 40 hours...I forget how much each additional hour was....

Of course.  I went to the mind and talked to a lady that worked there.  She liked the FSP and was glad that freedom loving people were moving to Grafton.  I also noticed that many of the roads were not paved.  That was kind of a shock. I also remember that a guy in town dols high speed internet.

You can get satellite internet access. But latency is high.

There is not DSL or cable internet access in Grafton, NH. The CO that services Grafton is in Cannan. It is DSL enabled, but it is too far away from Grafton to provide DSL service in Grafton. You can get DSL in Cannan.
