I saw a UFO last night

Well that's probably what it was then. But it was about 4 times bigger than any blimp I've ever seen (that is, about twice as wide and three times as long as the biggest, which wasn't the Goodyear blimp.). I still think it was probably an experimental military craft of some kind.

Sizes of things in the sky are quite difficult to judge accurately, because of the limited frame of reference. The moon looks huge when close to the horizon, for example, and much smaller when it's high in the sky.

I remember a couple of years ago when a number of people called the police to report a UFO. It was a cloud formation that just looked kinda funny. But, people see something they don't recognize and suddenly it's flying saucers.

Sizes of the "saucer" ranged from a few feet across to half a mile. No frame of reference.
