Logic and reason don't matter if the premise is flawed.

do you not have to believe in the benefits of rational thought (reason) as a fundamental tenet?
I don't think there are any requirements but you might want to look up the virtual church of Deism they may have fundamental tenets but even if they did it would only apply to that church and not all Deist.

Being a Deist is a cop-out, you can accept anything that is spelled out clearly by science, but rather than thinking about what science can't yet explain you just say it must be god.  In some cases it can be what science does explain but you can't understand it.  I am so sure that there is no god or super natural power of any kind that I can't even figure out how people still actually believe it.  I assume it is like a child who refuses to give up his belief in santa, because it is easier to think that magical elves made the gifts delivered to him by santa rather than to think that a complex economy and hard working parents are responsible.  Give me a break...  Religion will be the end us if something doesn't happen.

You can say that about almost every religion.

God does not need to be super natural.

How would you explain God then?  I put him right up there with dancing snowmen.

Religion in of itself will not end us.  It is a lack of respect for people to believe, live or act as they freely choose to do so long as it doesn't harm others that will end us.  You are lumping all religion in together with zelotry which is evil even if it is Atheistic zelotry.

Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of experience comes from bad judgment.

I don't think you understand Deism.  It is not about God or god at all but a Creator.  Something created everything and Deist think that that something exists.  You are right about science, though, it is not against Deism.

Deism is one of the religions that came out of the Enlightenment.  This is the same time where intellectuals across the Western World realized that Monarchy is an evil system and that people have a right to do as they wish as long as they do not hurt others.  Famous Deist include Jefferson and other classical liberals.  However, bad people like Lincoln were also Deist.   Of course, you know that some atheists were also bad people.

That is a dash, not a minus.

Creator... God... Alah... all the same.  I don't mean to be rude, but I see no difference.

Deism is defined in Webster's Encyclopedic Dictionary, 1941, as: "[From Latin Deus, God Deity] The doctrine or creed of a Deist." And Deist is defined in the same dictionary as: "One who believes in the existence of a God or supreme being but denies revealed religion, basing his belief on the light of nature and reason."

Deism is not a formal religion, but rather a philosophy that emphasizes morality and reason without the need of supervision or benediction of the creator in our everyday lives.

Deism embraces the concept of natural law and science...all things follow this law and God does not play favorites with any religious group by altering or suspending this law in any way.
