I have quite Christianity
« on: February 05, 2006, 05:23:35 PM »

The Christians have gone too far.  They say it is a sin to be a Shriner.  Well, I like the FTL Shriners and I am not afraid to tell the world!

[sighs]  That sign is redundant.  Lesbians are homosexuals.  Shriners are Masons.  Catholics are Satanists.  I mean, come on.

EDIT:  ... oh, wow.

(Incidentally, The Lower Third was the name of one of David Bowie's early bands.  Just thought I'd share that.)   ;)

I'm like soooo going to hell.

Might as well have as much fun as I can before eternal damnation. :-D

Or I could just go get saved when I'm 80 or something. Either way, I'm set.

Fine.  Tell me the point of Deism.

It seems like the biggest cop out ever.  "Oh yes, there's a God, he made the world, but now he's on vacation in some other universe sipping on martinis."  In a deist world, God is neither sufficient or nessecary- he fails Occam's Razor.

So why believe in God at all?

Oh thank fuck someone pointed out your ridiculous inability to type and/or spell.  I always get shit for it whenever I do.

Everyone should just face it.  There is no God.

God = Full-Truth

Are you saying there is no full-truth?

because inorder to have the ultimate constitutional trump against the divine right of kings argument a higher power was quickly needed and called upon.

but one can then construct a universal ethic derived from Locke's 2nd treatise that does not require any supernatural entity.

You don't have to believe in God to be a Deist.  I believe that something created the world.  That something is currently taking a less active run in the world than it used to.  I am a Deist.  You can call that something God, the Creator, Krishna, Jesus, Allah, Big Baby Jesus, Torgo, or the Force.  I could care less, but I believe in it and its power.

We were created and now we are to look after ourself, that is my belief.
