i was riding my motorcycle and got pulled over.  cop started yelling at me that i was drunk (i was sober, it was 9AM!) then accused me of smoking pot.  i shut up.  they sent me to the jail.  before getting processed they took my blood.  this was ~3 years ago in north cali

Yeah but what they are talking about on the show is a blood draw at the DUI stop not in the station.  Can't wait for the 1st time these cops cause a death by embolism or clot.  They will probably be found not liable.

imo, they shouldn't be able to violate your body or take biological samples without your consent.  it's an extreme example of violation of search and seizure

Absolutely.  The worst part is that almost anywhere in the country refusal of breathalyzer/blood test is treated the same as a guilty plea for DUI.  Don't get me wrong - I am not in favor of DUI.  Having ridden on an Ambulance for 6 years and seeing the havoc caused by DUI my opinion as to what should be done to them is a separate issue.

What if they "spill" some of an innocent person's blood at the next crime scene the speed off to? That could complicate matters.

I wonder if you told them you are a Christian Scientist and blood draws are against your religion if they could still try for the guilty for refusing.  Most judges are reluctant to go against religious reasons.
