Help bring marriage equality to NH
« on: March 31, 2009, 04:40:13 PM »

HB 436, the Marriage Equality Bill, passed the NH House by the slimmest of margins.

Our opposition is mounting a full fledged attack on equality, running radio and print ads, possibly TV ads, etc.

We don't have the support of powerful, multi-million dollar special interest groups, like they do. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT if we are to pass this bill through the Senate.

Please donate. Even a small contribution can make a big difference.

You can contribute through our secure donation page at http://support.nhcer.org

Your contribution will help go toward:
* Information Packets for legislators and media.
* Advertising to counter the vicious misinformation campaign coming from our opponents.
* Not a penny of overhead.

We greatly appreciate your generous donation!

I donated. :D

Keep up the good work!

(And as you said, there's no reporting requirements. So donors will stay anonymous to the State.)

Sir Ryan,

Do I understand correctly, you are trying to pass a law that allows people to get permission from the government?

Shouldn't the name be New Hampshire Coalition for Equal Entitlements?

Why not repeal a law instead of creating new?

Just wondering.

We dont need more laws. The best way to achieve marriage equality is to remove the governments laws pertaining in any way to marriage. That way, all marriages are equal to one another in that they do not have any form of recognition from the state.

No shit!

I'm starting to think the Live Free Or Die state might want to change that moniker to Donate To Us.

Wonder if they want equity not equality.

I also support getting government out of the marriage business.

However, this bill is simply about ending the institutional discrimination that currently exists.

If you don't support that, then well, you're a bigot looking for a rationalization to keep them queers away, huh?

And the bill you are begging for will do that?

How will it do that?  Seems to me that it will allow more people to lay claim to government benefits.

If you want to fuck boys, girls, or goats, I'd rather you didn't have to get a license for that.

But if you want to be a boy, girl, or goat fucker, this IS America.  Mob rules.  Good luck with that.

I'm mainly interested in polygamy and 9-year-old child brides.

The bill's prime sponsor will be the next guest on Capitol Access. Should be up on the web this weekend.

Campaigning for yet another fucking law to be put on the books is not the answer. If you're looking for equality, why not campaign to get the law(s) on the books regarding marriage repealed instead? Why the fuck are you working so hard to LEGALIZE and ENFORCE your morals on everyone else? I won't support your attempts to place yet another law regarding something that the government should have absolutely NOTHING to do with on the books.

You want my support? Go after the law(s) that dictate what marriage is and who can get married. Go after repealing the 'legal' definition of marriage, go after removing the government from what should be a private decision between two or more people, regardless of their gender(s). But don't go telling me that I have to accept what you do as 'moral' or else.

The govt. should have absolutely nothing to say about who marries who, PERIOD.

Grammar correction is valid only if you assume it was the writer's intent to use the classically "correct" standard of the English language.  On what basis do you make this assumption?  That's kind of like telling someone his computer is broken because it isn't running Windows XP.
