Father is a deadbeat who is connected to corrupt cops/judges in MI--drug dealer/tattoo artist to the cops, his wife has been repeatedly involved in abuse of children (including the one who was kidnapped).
How do you feel about Russell Kanning, the deadbeat dad was accused of child abuse?

If you want to accuse Ernie of all that shit, you really need to provide some links.

Go to FEDERAL judge in NH. Swear out FEDERAL warrant against law enforcement agency that took said child under false pretenses. Make sure his honor is reminded that child is endangered and obtained under false pretenses. Get FBI involved immediately.

Good luck!

Bad idea.  Transportation of minors across state lines without the consent of a legally involved parent is a felony.

Normally, family court situations will tone down the rhetoric in favor of the most benign outcome.  You can plea these things down, drop charges, etc.  But not if both sides are out-trashing one another.  Then the judge will follow the law more directly, if no compromise from the two sides of opposition are forthcoming.

And that means, the NH folks could be not only in the wrong, but in some serious shit.  And so could the NH step-dad.  He "aided and abetted" (whatever abetted means), and harbored the kid, who was illegally removed and transported from the state of MI.

I'd love to hear a few words from Lance on this one.

I think the point here is that the mother was and should still be the legally involved parent, except for some legal trickery that turned a benign action into a felony. Sue the original attorney (possible?) and seek an overturn of the custody ruling.

Thanks LT,

Thats what I meant. According to the article, the parents in NH had legal custody of the child. The  alleged kidnapping had to be entered in NCIC in Michigan and then acted upon by the law enforcement agency in NH. I don't believe this was done (at least not properly) and the NH LEA (Law Enforcement Agency) was back pedaling to keep their asses from being handed to them. Since this was across state lines, the FBI would and should be involved, but the article did not state this. Actually, the FBI can be involved in ANY kidnapping within the state and outside across state lines. The involvement of the FBI was not clearly stated.
Now, if the NH LEA was complicit in some hairbrained scheme from Michigan which may be barely legal if at all, they are just as guilty as a parent snatching a child from another (ex)parent across state lines without the paperwork of (there is a legal word for "ownership of a child" but I just had a brain fart and can't remember it) legal guardianship. The cops complicit in this action can be charged with kidnapping since they did not allow any legal representation to examine the arrest or in this case the taking of the child.
I would prosecute them to the full extent of the law, because no one is above the law in this country, not even smart ass cops (of which I used to be one).
But as a disclaimer, only one side of the story was presented, but the story presented seemed very credible.
