This forum is everything I've lived for for like 3 years of my life.

Delete a single one of my posts, and I'm going postal.

I would rather lose a leg.  Seriously.

Time to walk the walk and not just talk the talk. People bitch the forum is dying. A purge is good. Instead of complaining about it, do a little work and put a post on threads you care about. That brings good stuff up again and makes it easy for the mods to lose the boring stuff. I would enjoy seeing which threads R3 and Mr Libman care most about.
I recently amped as well. Not only are the perks awesome, It somehow added a inch legnth and a 1/2 inch thickness to my cock, and it increased my staying power 50%.
That's right, thanks to amp, my cock is now a rock hard 2 inches of orgasm giving awesomeness.
Seriously its not that tough, and you people bitching to Mark about his adds (which would be like someone bitching to me that I built my stuff to fast at work) would not look so hypocritical and cheap.

A little while back when Shaw became a mod, I requested that he delete around 5000 of my posts, and he did. For a while, I used to delete all my posts and threads after they fell off the first page, but that was a hassle, so I stopped doing it. Perhaps FTL can put some option in the profile where a member can delete all his/her stuff, with a single click of the button, instead of having to delete everything one post at a time.

Whatever my post count is, today, it is not a clear indicator as to just how much I have contributed to the BBS, over the span of maybe 3-4 years, now.

Alls I know is that I never look or use the archives for anything..like I said, when stuff falls off the first page, it's ancient history to me. I'm pretty sure that most of the epic shit that I've done in the past is lost now, since I got Shaw to delete it. But I'm sure there's tons of stuff that went on in the golden age of the BBS that some new members might be interested in digging for, to get an idea as to just how terrifying of a place this used to be. I remember "Pencilgate", which was classic drama that Boner Joe started with Taors...and of course The John Hansen/Ballapuran days.

Those were good times, and it's sad that this place has become so lifeless, in comparison.

I've probably contributed like 20,000 pages by now, some of it quite good actually...

I think you need to let the BBS go, and be with Jesus. As an old-timer, Alex, I can barely look at this place anymore....don't you feel that way? Let The BBS die, Alex....be free!

Don't you have anything going on these dayz, Alex? It's over, Alex...The BBS is over.

I think Libman posts here in between him doing whatever it is in his trailer in New Hampshire, which may or may not have anything to do with killing and eating stray ATF agents who might wander onto his property.

Letting go is for pussies!  I have a deadly biovirus AI-triggered to be released if a single of my posts gets deleted (excluding HFZ threads) - if this BBS goes the rest of humanity goes with it!

Why purge?
I'm not seeing performance issues.
Purging just for the sake of a purge is f-ing stupid

I have an easy solution.Lock down this forum and start bbs mk2 as a new forum install at forum.freetalklive.com.Problem solved and nothing has to be deleted. :D

On the plus side ftl could choose more modern forum sofware.

The best forum software is vbulletin imo.It also allows hosted blogs for members. An amp perk? :)

Good ideas, Terror Australis.  Just as long as ~4 years of my blood, sweat, and tears don't get deleted...  Plus I have a zillion links from other Web-sites pointed at various threads on this forum.  I've already said that the Free State Project has failed the day John Shaw became the Stalin / moderator of this BBS, well, I'm still hoping I'm wrong on that, but this book-burning would definitely be the final nail in the coffin...

Time to walk the walk and not just talk the talk. People bitch the forum is dying.

Not so much dying, as being killed by a handful of bad posters, who scare off newcomers.

Please elaborate. I haven't noticed any threatening behaviour or anything.

Certain posters have rendered the forum almost unusable. I know which to click on (although I'll sometimes click before looking at who started it, and go "damn--another wasted click.") Newcomers don't know any better, and so get a bad first impression of the place.
