How do you all go about financing your move to the Free State? I'm interested in everyone's stories, especially those of Ian & Manwich (and T/J if they are doing it).
My situation is that I'm a college student (2nd year), with a savings of about $6,000 in the Credit Union (SOVIET I TELL U! [JK]), and some part-time jobs that come and go, paying around $10/hr avarage. Most of these are tech related, but not all. 2/3 of them involve Liberty in some way though! All told, at this rate, I'd probably be at about $7-10K in total savings by this time next year probably, and that's it. How does one move to NH and make some change w/out being financially well established, a smuggler, or in posession of large gobs of "old money" (rich parents/relatives)?
Also, when is the planned 'official' moving period, and does the FSP have any info on people to contact about finding work/housing/etc in the area? Remember, I'm not very well established on my own, and "FSPing" would be not just a new start, but in many ways the first start for me on my own (no more familial or collegiate ties). Granted, I do know one guy in NH named John Starr who went to my university, so if you're reading this or know who he is, please let me know!

A single person with a college degree that is in demand in NH should be able to move for less than $1,000.

I'm an individualist of the first order; I REALLY don't like to owe others if I can avoid it.
I am currently working to eliminate my credit card debt and purchase enough assets to at least keep me with an income until I can establish contracts in NH. I'm also acquiring data through a cashflow statement to establish a good idea of a reasonable budget; I almost have a year's data, which should assist greatly in finding the best solution.
At the same time, I am building up my skills; I intend to be as competant a computer technician and businessman as I can be; I currently work at a (private) university, so I plan to take advantage of the educational benefits. ;)
I also have an idea for a potential business which I am currently still in the research phase for; something a friend of mine had given me, although I don't believe they thought the concept through well enough. Not that my concept is more than just that at this time. :?

Cool. I've been in IT for quite a while, plus I can fix pretty much anything mechanical, without having to know much about the item in question before hand. Basically, I can fix anything, it's just a matter of how long it takes. I can also do social organization jobs pretty well.

So it'll probably be 4 years, at least.
As for financing it directly, I believe that spending the money yourself and investing the effort yourself will accomplish more. I may donate a bit now and then, though.

Hey, how about college in NH? I'll be getting out of high school in a few years and I'm really considering it. Why wait ANOTHER four years?

GJ boner that must really get you off huh? JK. About NH higher ed- any good choices besides UNH? Besides being statist and shit, I know some people that go there that I'm not exactly on bad terms with, but some of them are rather irritating so to speak ;D

What does that have to do with you moving to NH? Even if you are against the FSP, as long as you are pro-freedom...100s of people in NH will welcome you and assist with your move (as long as you are not an A-hole).

The Circle Jerks is a great band. They are one of the few punk bands that seems to be 100% libertarian.
