I bet there are a lot of couples here where at least one half of the couple is not Libertarian/anarchist/whatever.

If someone wants to waste their life being miserable just for the benefits of someone paying half the bills and sex, go right ahead.

That's not really what it's all about.  Some people genuinely care about and/or are in love with their spouses.

I cannot see how you could be in love with someone that supports locking you up for a victimless crime. Sorry. Maybe I'm broken in the head for not wanting to compromise because they look "gorgeous". I'll take my chances.

I'd rather fuck a hot socialist than hang around a dirt ugly libertarian women.

Call me unprincipled or something, I'm still getting laid.

Hey, she could become a libertarian just by fucking you. "Oh man that fuck was so good it changed my whole paradigm!"

No one said anything about compromise because of looks.  You're right, looks aren't everything, but there are a lot of things that make up a good relationship.  Not just politics.

I think not wanting to have me arrested is a #1 priority.

Your theory is a little flawed because you keep going to the most extreme end of the spectrum.  Most people are not extremists.  Not even the majority of Libertarians are extremists.  Two people are never going to agree completely on everything there is in the universe.  That's why we're all different.  You can't expect perfection, because if you do you will spend your whole life disappointed.

Besides, as Libertarians/Minarchists/Anarchists/Free-Marketeers/Assholes/Whatevers we don't have a very big pool of individuals to choose from, so the odds are already against us if we only think to look within certain boundaries.  Besides, not everyone is a born Libertarian.  Who's to say that your future spouse can't be convinced that the Libertarian philosophies are more logical than anything else?

do you doubt it?

Yup.

hmmm... I suppose if she feels the need to pose in front of all those books.

She just wants to show off her smarts!  And she does so quite well.

Her perfect picture would be without the white dress leaving all the books to fill in where our imagination would have to take over.  But I think that the sexiest photos are let the the mind fill in the gaps.  Reality rarely lives up to what we can thing up in our minds.

Besides, not everyone is a born Libertarian.

Shocking.  Wait, you were not a member of the LP when you were born, how strange.

You still aren't libertarian. Not shocking.

Are you going to just start grunting for your next maneuver of retaliation?  Everyone looks for something different in a potential mate.  I don't think it's fair to cast aside others because they are not willing to date a caveman/woman simply because they follow some of the same political ideologies.  That suggests an imbalance of priorities.  If we all made our political pursuits the most important thing in our lives, we'd probably end up like Russell Kanning - rotting in jail for doing something stupid just because it's against a law that we disagree with.  Fuck that.

All she needs is a few Terence McKenna hardcovers...and I'd be calling in asking for her number.

Keith, since when is LP membership indicative of being libertarian?
