Probably the last year we'll be celebrating the entire month leading up to Xmas with the family's worker elf (like elf on a shelf), but Lauren the Elf showed up to run the thanksgiving half marathon with my oldest and me. Note that she's even got a race bib, and had stolen my bagel.

It's fun to pull pranks and hide the elf around the house, but watching my 10 year old willfully suspend reality and spin her wheels to come up with explanations of how "the elf" is up to mischief is not as much fun as when she was younger and this stuff was "magic". Now it's just a lot of work to have as few clues to which one of the parents pulled the prank... not to mention coming up with new ones each year.

Gray stealthy elephant for nephew, green off to new home of etsy shopper tomorrow.
I'm getting to like like this "one for me, one for sale" thing.

Now, back to LOTR and star wars crochet. Those yoda ears won't stitch themselves.

I hate Christmas. In the USA where it only really is around the 25th I could keep my self comfortably numb for a 24 hour period. In Norway where it lasts all December this doesn't work as well. Anyway I'll give the spirit of the thing a try. My wife and smallest rug rat made a gingerbread house.

Cute Huh? when we glued the thing together with molten sugar I got a third degree burn on my hand.

This is a daily countdown to greed, a Christmas calender.

LOL, all of the stores around here have been playing christmas music since the beginning of November!

Anyways, cute pics.

Cute pics, alaric! Great job on the house. (hate to admit this, but I took a friend's suggestion last year to use hot glue gun to attach the joins of walls & roof... stayed together, and it's not like the kids were going to eat anything but the candy trim anyway after it'd been sitting around for weeks)

Worker elf kidnapping... great idea. Lots of fun to stage, got the older boys involved in the plan, and saved me from having to come up with new stuff for 3-4 days in a row.
