Bitcoins and war.
« on: April 28, 2013, 10:15:20 PM »

Let's say that Bitcoin was THE currency around the world. Dollars, pounds, what ever don't exist anymore. At the moment a country wants to go to war? Simple, print more money. But since Bitcoins are a finite currency you can't print them of pull them out of a hat like a magic trick. Could this mean Bitcoins could actually be a huge moneraty obstacle against going to war since war means more spending, a hell of a lot more? Hope Mark and Ian have an input here.

If the entire world accepted bitcoin as the main currency, I don't think there would be wars, or at least wars are we know it today.

and I doubt any government will ever accept bitcoin as their main currency anyway. They will always force people to use their Fiat so they can "help" regulate the economy and print at their whim.

Who's to say gov isn't manipulating bitcoins now?  They can "buy up" all they want with their fiat (fake) money.  The question then remains, when will gov control this market?
...Only a matter of time. ;)
