Lt. I have no desire to get in another one of your pointless wall-o-text arguments, but just to have it put plainly.... I would guess that the general consensus on our little troll plagued message board is that:
A. Either the US government is a bunch of arrogant idiots who didn't believe the masses needed or wanted or deserved any proof. or
B. they are fucking hiding something and don't want to be very open.
A quick independent declaration of death and a few hundred high quality shots of both the final stand scene and the body before and during burial should not have been any problem at all. And they should have respected the US citizen's wishes on proof with the amount of blood and money we have collectively spent to get this cocksucker.
Asking me and everyone else to just take the word of a bunch of politicians and bureaucrats in this digital age when unquestionable proof should be so easy to provide is wrong.
The authorities had more respect to the public scepticism before when they would publish photographs of the body. Ex: Bonnie and Clyde, John Dillinger, The people who were shot in attempted bank robberies and so on. So stop it with the excuses please. There are none.

It's already been put plainly that people believe this is a cover up of some kind. Your 'A' is probably the most accurate of the above choices. I simply think this is a case of Occam's razor. The most simple, probable explanation is that they killed him, got enough proof to be certain themselves (when do they ever think us outside of election considerations?), and dealt with the aftermath in a 'strategic' way (islamic considerations, low key announcement, etc...). Was it the best handling? We can debate that, but a cover up? I don't think so, personally.

This is freakish...

http://www.economicpolicyjournal.com/2011/05/totally-bizarre-three-senators-now.html

from the comments thread:

I think there's a pattern here that's similar to the birth certificate drama. Obama could have released the original birth certificate years ago. Why wouldn't he do that? The intention is to create tremendous uncertainty so that people reasonably suspect ill-intentions. He succeeds in fomenting that uncertainty. Then, he releases the document, and immediately starts painting his opposition as paranoid fools.

I think you may have the same thing going on here. Expect actual "official" photos to be released later followed by casual appearances where Obama paints the uncertainty as paranoid foolery by his opposition. Certainly, there's a high level of incompetence in the Obama administration, so it's also possible that they just know how to make their incompetence work to their advantage.

Of course, it's also possible that the pictures wouldn't prove much. If OBL took two hollow points to the side of his head, the exit wounds would be huge, and half his head may be missing. Now that we know OBL was unarmed, that picture might incite Obama voters (I doubt they're concerned about inciting the Middle East. If they are, that would be a first).

"This is what the bin Laden story was supposed to look like: A heroic midnight assault by SEAL team 6 - straight out of a Tom Clancy novel; America's greatest terrorist threat found hiding in a mansion stocked with weapons; Bin Laden, the master-mind behind 9/11, in a final act of cowardice, hid behind his wife and used her as a body shield while engaging US ground forces in a bitter firefight; meanwhile, the president, our Commander in Chief, oversaw the action via live feed. Showing honor even to its enemies, the United States gave bin Laden a proper Islamic burial at sea.

Here is what seems to have happened (so far as we know): SEAL team 6 crash-landed a helicopter; Bin Laden was in a house with his family, farm animals, and no weapons; he was either shot on sight (because he was clothed) or captured and executed in front of his daughter; the president observed none of this via live feed; bin Laden's body was buried at sea in violation of several Islamic funeral traditions."

Looks like the SEAL team members are scared.

Since these guys think it is ok to busted into someones house, and killed unarmed members of Bin Laden's family, would it be ok to do the same thing to them?

The Department of Defense is looking into ways to "pump up the security" for the team of Navy SEALs who helped kill Osama bin Laden after the commandos expressed concern for their safety and the safety of their families, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Thursday.

Also, did you hear that one of Bin Laden's sons may have escaped?

On the raid in May 2nd, 2011 it was believe that the 22 year-old was at the house were his father Osama was killed,  his mother is believe to be among the three wives found there, at first report said Hamza as also killed but it was until later that media said one of the wives said he is not among the dead bodies found in the compound Osama’s son who was killed was 22 year-old Khalid  but Hamza had escaped.

Hamza Bin Laden also known as “Crown Prince of terrorism.” is alive and questions about him taking revenge for his father’s death have began!
