The government has no right to impose that law on people who never consented to it.

It never ceases to amaze me that some idiots insist that "the people" do consent to it, election after election, by re-electing candidates who support it.

Better to say the government has no right to impose that law on PERSONS who never consented to it.

Also, avoid pronouns that a complete idiot could misinterpret.

The cops are trying to intimidate innocent drug dealers and the consumers they proudly serve.

Remember, complete idiots think the cops proudly serve the drug addicts by arresting them and locking them up in a place where supposedly there are no such drugs.
