Audio quality of Porcfest and courtroom recordings
« on: July 05, 2011, 06:23:21 PM »

Its neat that so many events get video recorded such as Mark's trial and Stefan's roast at Porcfest.  My problem is the audio quality is so poor I can barely even make out what's being said.

I don't mean to be a complainer, but can't you guys figure out a way to get quality audio if you're gonna record stuff?

Ridley, by comparison, is always understandable!

The problem with cleaning up audio is that the process sometimes introduces other problems with it that make the audio similarly unusable. I suppose the producers could run the audio through something that removes the noise and boosts the volume, but then you sometimes get REALLY weird sounding audio.

Consider that a lot of the video you're seeing is recorded either using mobile phones or those handheld point and shoot cams. Audio from them just isn't fantastic. Ridley, by comparison, shoots with a more professional rig as I understand it.

But I agree: the audio sucks!
