Who would want it?

I guess someone could turn it into a theater but most of them are state funded anyway.

I didn't read the whole article but stopped when I read this.  They plan to sell the legislature then lease it back from the buyer over time.  This will be a real stupid test for some rich person.  That is if they are too dumb to realize the state has the power of eminent domain.  The state sells the building for 735 million.  Then when real estate prices tank they force an eminent domain on the property and purchase it back for pennies on the dollar at its new market value.  If someone is dumb enough to trust a state in such a sell they are idiots.

Well, one privatization plan would make all people who've paid trackable state taxes (just the property tax in NH's case) stakeholders in a holding company that would own those assets, which would most likely be interested in selling them off to the highest bidder.  If I had to make a prediction, I think private schools / universities would be a major growth segment as the result, and the State House building could be just another lecture hall, or maybe also a museum.
