HA, HA Ted Nugent a libertarian? So he wants to get rid of welfare and liberalize gun laws, whoopee do. Willing to bet money he is a fervent supporter of America's biggest and greatest form of welfare and disguised unemployment, the military.
Why is Dean Koontz on the Advocates website? He is about as libertarian as Ted Nugent. He is consistently conservative, except without the knee-jerk homophobia and gender roles. He shoves down his opinion down your through in all his novels, or at least all that I have read. He is rabidly anti-drug, marijuana included, yet characters that drink alcohol, evenly irresponsibly are still placed in a positive light. One character drinks several nips of liquor to fall asleep, Koontz plays it off as if this is something everyone goes through once in awhile. A character washes down pain-killers with beer, to self-medicate the wounds from an attacker. And no warning that mixing opiates with alcohol is DANGEROUS. He also has a character in one book that is straight-edge, and broadens the definition to include moderate alcohol use. I know people who were a part of the straight-edge movement when it began, and during it's numerous revivals, and alcohol, even moderate use is not allowed. Strict adherents even refrain from caffeine too. The funny thing is many of those who were there when it began, are AGAINST the drug war.
Dean Koontz is also anti-atheist, and has numerous jabs at them. One was when the narrator was in a vacant squatter house with cultist graffiti from floor to ceiling, and the narrator said something to the effect that it is better to be irrational and actually believe in something than be an atheist.
