The real concern is that the anti-gun nuts are going to use using this as another example of why guns should be outlawed.  Forgetting the fact that one of the reasons the holocaust was able to happen was because people had lost gun rights.  Doubt the irony will register with many.

Last night on Olbermann, he not only made light of those who defend gun rights in light of this horrible event, he effectively tied Ron Paul to the gunman in one of the most tortured pieces of connect-the-dots I've ever seen. It included among other ties, the supposed switching of his domain to a man [not clear if the man runs the domain, sold the domain, hosted the domain, etc.) who shares a phone number with a woman listed as a michigan coordinator for former presidential candidate Ron Paul...

As twisted and unfair as this association is, how completely ridiculous, it is the type of thing forecast by those of us who wished Ron Paul would have come out more strongly distancing himself from a) the newsletter excerpts attributed to him and b) support received by white supremicist/racially bigoted individuals and groups, that we feared even while campaigning for him with loads of time, effort and money.

It is the type of missed opportunity that would have helped avoid the public perception of liberty lovers = dangerous extremists perpetuated by things like the MIAC publication and Republicrat talking heads.
