Android app question
« on: February 11, 2011, 05:38:33 PM »

I upgraded to the mytouch 4 & I can't find the Freedi Youtube downloader app on the market anymore (probably because Google Yanked it over copyright issues). How do I transfer the app from my old android to my new one??

Apps can be removed from one phone and installed to another via a computer which has the Android Developer Kit installed. Though this does require some familiarity with the kit and isn't something I'd be able to easily explain in a forum post. (Maybe someone else can, but I have a lot going on right now.)

Already solved it using other apps available in the Android marketplace.  :D

Step 1: Download "File Manager" for the old phone

Step 2: tap "applications" once you open the app. You'll see a list of all the apps you have. Then just select which ones you want saved to the SD card & then tap the  "Backup" key at the top.

Step 3: Download "Appinstaller" onto the new phone so you can install the apps you just transferred from your old phone's SD card to your new one. I'm sure Y'all can figure out the rest.
