I was joking about the free healthcare.
The NHS is abysmally inefficient and prone to malpractice.
Not to mention its wrong to force people to pay for something they don't want.
If you think we should have "free" healthcare, why not have "free" government food? "free" government transportation? "free" government electricity or computers?
Oh thats right, because its communism and it fucking fails.
The NHS isn't even a good idea from a socialist perspective. A huge portion of health care costs in a human life are incurred during the last 4 weeks of life, which in rich countries with high life expectancy (like the UK), you are draining billions of pounds into a practically meaningless endeavor. Not to mention the costs of self induced illnesses like obesity, alcohol and smoking.
If people are to be stolen from to pay for medicine, then at least it should be done through some sort of voucher/welfare system.
We don't expect the government to run farms to help people who need food, they just give them the money, and food is much more important than medicine. A person can live for years and never need to visit a hospital, but they'll die in a week without food.
