The new Hall Of Shame entry, Ally, says that the fake is really good. It also challenges you to find the proof.
I give up. Can anyone clue me in?

Zoom in and look around.
-
Yeah...I did that. Still not sure. I think I see a photoshop border line on the sign, but it may not have been one.
-
Ah-ha! Got it.
Wow...nice catch guys!

You wanna share?
-
Yeah, I'm stumped. Come on people - let's have it!
-
Going to leave a "Tip: paint bucket" and then go back to sleep.
So close... so close. If ya caught what I think you caught a lower resolution and higher compression might've just made it through.
-
Is it that fucking splotch of blue below the letters?
-
Too bad it had to be a fake. She's cute. New Hampshire, where the women are strong, and the children are above average.
Somebody must be real bored to fake up a picture of a girl.
-
I still dont see any clue. The only thing that looks odd is the paper. It seems a little too straight, and using the fill bucket seems to make too perfect of a square.
-
Ah, got it. I'm surprised I figured it out that quickly, given that I tend to miss the tiny little details.
-
The show mentions one flaw, but it actually is not the one that I thought they found... (which, I believe are the blue lines under the NE fingers, look down about the width of the finger)
Hit the white background of the sign with a paint tool (zero threshold), if placed correctly it will fill most of the area, which is very odd. For comparison, try filling the area under the north-east finger or pull up Zoe's image, which has a similar super-white sign. Getting a proper variation in areas like that is incredibly hard, as even things like the "Add Noise" tools will not fool a careful analysis ("careful" being a touch more complex than the paint tool in MSPaint, but still not bad :)).
Now look at the unfilled splotch in the top-left and compare with the one in the bottom-right. Notice that the pattern of slightly off-white pixels surrounding the blue marks are identical, which is practically impossible in a real image. Even an identical blue stamp would have slightly different lighting and error in the camera, and either would be amplified by the JPEG compression.
And now let me switch out of lecture mode and go find a movie to watch...
<edit>And I was about an inch from teasing Lindsey, who appears to have almost as much patience with this sort of thing as I do. But decided that I'd refrain from annoying moderators I hadn't had a chance to get drunk with. (That rule comes from another forum -- am not condoning underage drinking, even for those that would be legal up here).</edit>
<edit re="spelling">I swear occifer, I havn't been drunking.</edit>

Nonsense! Lindsey likes it when you mess with her. Besides, she is better at giving it than getting it, or so I hope :P
-
If you have Photoshop or some equivalent you can dump all the Lightness, and ramp up the contrast to get the notebook lines to show up on the edges of the paper. That's how I found it.

That's the other risk -- getting my butt handed to me by some 'lil chick.
// Dimunitives for comedic effect only

I can take teasing just fine, but if you throw it at me, expect to have your ass handed back to you. It's all in good fun though.
Oh yeah...and what a dumb fuck. The person who did this, I mean.
