Title: Al - thanks for the link
Post by: Fred on October 23, 2011, 11:57:37 AM
Al, I really thank you for the freedom feen link.  That's a good podcast.   I like how they'll break out with a full Dead Kennedy's song right in the middle of the podcast.  That's cool.

The sound quality is damn good - I couldn't listen to the Puke one with Stephanie cuz the audio quality was so poor.

Thanks again!

P&TG is kind of a love or hate podcast I think (Helps to have a mental age of around 12). Freedoms Feens are pros. Michael W Dean is evidently old friends with the Dead Kennedys.

I'm not friends with them. I only have about five real friends in the world. One is my wife, and another is Neema, my co-feen.

I know all the DKs except Klaus though. Jello was a fan of my band Bomb and came to see us a lot in Frisko, I tried out for Ray's post-DK's band and talked to him a bunch here and there when I lived in Frisko, and DH was my downstairs neighbor in LA. He was a good neighbor.

Will be tuning in.

Are you also friendly with Mojo Nixon, Big Business or any of those guys? Any old artwork by Winston laying around your place?

Nope. My only connection with Mojo Nixon was tertiary. His manager was my band Bomb's manger. Manager's name was Charlie Brown. (seriously!). Charlie was also Jane's Addiction's manager. They sued him and got a different manager.

Dead Kennedy's music, way before I moved to San Fran or met any of them, taught me not to trust the government. Part of that was the album art.

I love Winston Smith's art. I think he's a big influence on this guy, David Dees http://www.sl-webs.com/deesillustration/home.asp (http://www.sl-webs.com/deesillustration/home.asp)

Winston Smith's art was absolutely an influence on this background Neema and I did in the end of our movie, "GUNS AND WEED: THE ROAD TO FREEDOM"
