Finally bought a giant ass ceiling fan for the house. Put it up in the living room/kitchen area up on the vaulted ceiling. Didn't skimp. Shit has an RF remote control for everything. Forward, backward, speeds, lights. FUCK YEAH DOMESTIC MOTHERFUCKER.

Spent about an hour trying to balance it. We won't be running it on "fast" yet. Medium doesn't wobble, though, and because it's PS3 huge (62 inches) medium fucking moves papers around up in this shit.

Don't even KID. It's up there with anchors because the box is at the top of the rail, like eight or nine inches above the center drop. I used four 1/4 inch anchors to support two rails.

I'm paranoid as shit about it at this point.

It'll be alright with quarter-inch lags as long as they're over 2'' long.  You need to grab structural wood under that trim piece. 

Hardware that size, you could probably hang about 300 pounds of dead weight.
