First, I'd just like to say that as of this week, the brand new $5 Quarter Liberties are out! You can get them via the NORFED website, as I don't think any RCOs or Associates have them yet. I ordered $100FRN worth of them (20 coins) myself. Ian, at least in theory, would it be possible to instead pay for AMP donations in bulk once a year via an ALD shipment, or monthly via eLiberties? I'm guessing the answer is probably no for logistics reasons, but I figured I'd ask for curiosity's sake if nothing else.
Anyway, here's the main post:
Problem: NORFED takes frikin forever to send out orders, even for RCOs and Associates. This isn't good at all. Also, distribution is limited because there are only so many people spending and recieving them (only 74 or 75 RCOs exist nationwide, according to the latest LD News).
Solution: Implement a new secondary market for exchanging/"buying" ALD/eLD itself, and for spending it on desirable goods and services. I've been using
Liberty Auctions for some time, and I just recently talked to the administrator. He apparently created the site for this very purpose, and you can buy all kinds of cool things with the ALD and other currencies, as well as exchange FRNs for bulk amounts of LDs/eLDs for discounts (sometimes better than the RCO/Associate rate depending on how many people bid the item up).
I buy/sell stuff there periodically, and it's pretty good. What are your problems/solutions with this and maybe other currencies?
