It's better than the first one.

Yes, I felt kinda embarassed after listening to the first one. Gunshots and all that, plus they've gotten better at rapping.

Another plus: the ending. It shows Keynes winning the court of public opinion, but still shows people starting to listen to Hayek.

I loved both of them. I thought the music was cooler with this one though. It almost stands on its own merit. The secret is probably the guy they got to be the chairman.

These guys are terrific.

The most pertinent line in this vid is Hayek saying: Theres no 'engine', you don't need a mechanic, put down the tools the economy's organic.

Paraphrasing, of course.

http://blogs.forbes.com/beltway/2011/05/02/the-question-i-ponder-who-plans-and-spends-for-whom/

"Jobs are a means, not the ends in themselves
people work to live better, to put food on the shelves.
Real growth means production of what people demand.
That’s entrepreneurship not your central plan!

These are the words of a re-animated F. A. Hayek as he debates his long-time rival and the father of counter-cyclical fiscal “stimulus”, John Maynard Keynes in “Fight of the Century“, a hip-hop music video which economist Russ Roberts and I co-created and released onto the web last week.  Out of the nearly 10 minutes of dense verse, this passage, and in particular the last three words, sparked a little debate among some of the intelligentsia. My partner Russ Roberts recounts the details of the ongoing debate on his website cafehayek.com (we make no bones about whose side we’re on), so I won’t quote our friendly critics here."

"How do Keynesian administrators decide where to spend the money? They can’t buy 'aggregate supply'. There’s no 'aggregate supply' store from which to 'aggregate demand' some 'goods in general'. Each of these terms are ex-post accounts. They’re abstract summaries. They aren’t real things that can be traded."
