from today's Taylor on Radio: (emphasis added)
How public is the Boston pirate at Touch 106? He’s doing a coast-to-coast “Walk for Power.”
That walk is to publicize the cause of low power radio. Lots of folks around Boston are conflicted on this one – yes, Charles Clemens is operating an FM station without FCC permission, and at least theoretically creating interference to properly-licensed stations near his squatted-on frequency of 106.1. But - he’s offering an urban format that also provides service to the community, and “Touch 106” has continued to flourish for several years. The station’s got a website – TouchFM.org - and the Boston board at Radio-Info.com continues to have a passionate debate about whether Touch should be welcomed – or raided.
Good news for those interested in putting a transmitter on the air.
