Barix Network Audio Decoder - Who needs a computer?

Less than $200 and you can receive streaming audio without a computer!

Plus, looks like Barix offers free streaming client firmware which allows for failover:  http://www.barix.com/downloads.php?pid=1381

If you have balanced XLR connectors on your transmitter, you need one of these to convert the audio to balanced:

While doing some contract work with CBS radio in Los Angeles, I got to see their Barix setup. They send several streams to other markets over their WAN for use as HD2 programming. Also, they use Barix to monitor several I-net streams to verify Arbitron encoding.
They have about 5000 listeners a day on their "modern rock" stream. They sell ads and use spot insertion and fill audio to cover the spots on all streams.
It looks like CBS radio is banking on the streaming side of their products. Also, they are expanding to add video content as part of the web part of their brands.
