since resisting force with force is justifiable.
if a cop attempted to arrest me for having some cannabis, could i resist using force or violence and be justified in doing so?
is it jusifiable to use force to resist the oppression of the gov?

To be honest, it would piss me off to hear that someone shot a cop who was trying to arrest him for a little bit of grass.  All that would happen is that it'd be another flag for the anti-drug fascists to wave when saying how dangerous drugs are and how volatile even pot smokers are.  Would I go as far as to morally condemn someone who's exercising their right to life and liberty?  No.  But it would still be upsetting to hear that it happened, just knowing how the "other side" would run with it.  (BTW, I did not vote "no".)

It can be justifiable to fight fire with fire but not always.  Jumping to vengance is a bad measure.

Depends on if you have anything left to lose.

It's a simple cost vs benefits analysis.

Read Unintended Consequences by John Ross;

or The Ballad of Carl Drega by Vin Suprynowicz.

Brain for an eye, skull for a tooth.

If a man smite you on one cheek, smash him on the other.  Smite him hip and thigh for self-preservation is the highest law.

Justifiable?  Absolutely.

Wise?  Hell no.

If six armed thugs take you by surprise and demand your wallet, trying to get the drop on them and gun them down would be perfectly justifiable.  It would also be rather stupid.

And with cops, there's a lot more than six of them.

However, seeing things like the UCLA tazing makes me want to scream at the bystanders to attack the thugs, lock them up with their own handcuffs, and give them a taste of their own medicine.

In this situation, no, because your self-interest would not be served.  Unless you have martyrdom as a goal.....
