well, at this point i don't know what my user name and password are for the BBS. i tried "seasaltyred" and "brigid" and "brigid." with what i thought must be the correct password (i could be wrong about that though) and it kept saying that the user names and email address were "not valid in SMF" and even when i tried to get new password. sorry, man. so yeah idk.
Her username is "brigid." I tried it and her email address,
seasaltyred@gmail.com
, in the forgot your password page (
http://freetalklive.com/user/password
), and sure enough, it doesn't think she exists. Any idea why?

I didn't see her username in Drupal. I'm not sure how to search the users in SMF.

It's under Admin :: Members. Not sure if moderators have access.

Was this handled or is this issue still open?

This is still a problem. Now it's worse. If you put in a username it doesn't like, the box just becomes highlighted in red. Perhaps the error message is being covered up by the "Download Episode" "Get more episode" links? I've noticed them covering up some stuff elsewhere, but hadn't posted that bug yet.

I don't know about the forgot password form, but brigid's username seems to be "brigid." with a period. I don't know why that is.

Was the "brigid." on SMF? Because I didn't see the username in Drupal. I thinking the SMF allows usernames with characters that Drupal does not.

Well it's good to know that, because then you can perform a query on the database and find out who has those characters in the usernames, and inform them or delete them dependent upon whether or not they are just spammers. Of course, I am assuming spammers are more likely to have these kinds of characters in their usernames, and also assuming that this difference in acceptance of characters is the issue.

What I said in the previous post was wrong. I just created a username with a '.' at the end and it worked fine. I'll keep investigating.

Is there a process to resync the users from the SMF database into Drupal? I'm not very familiar with the SMF bridge.

This should probably be fixed soon if it hasn't been already.
