2010 Census - Strategy for Avoiding?
« on: May 04, 2009, 07:57:00 PM »

What is your strategy for avoiding the 2010 census? I hear on the Internet that it is rarely prosecuted, but I have found at least two cases where it was. In one case, the plaintiffs argued that it violated the US Constitution's 5th Amendment and the Supreme Court's "right to privacy" rulings. A court right below the Supreme Court agreed briefly and then changed its mind on a whim.

One interesting case is this one:
http://altlaw.org/v1/cases/440249
The guy got off the hook because he very publicly opposed the census. He argued the government prosecuted him arbitrarily because he was so outspoken, and that it did not use equal standards against him as others for deciding to take up his case. Lesson learned: if you are a loud mouthed advocate for some issue then you are more likely to have the case thrown out! (Seems applicable to other forms of activism as well. Liberty Dollar guys: are you reading that link??)

I know there are cases where the goons with guns are forbidden to attack you if the paperwork doesn't have certain OMB codes on it, but we won't know if that will work until the paperwork is released. Also, if you refuse certain things related to religion then you can be safe, but I'm not sure the rules.

Just fill it out, its not a big deal and is one of the few things the government does that's actually Constitutional.

Latino pastor group urges census boycott
Group's leader says Congress needs to pass immigration reform first

updated 4:27 p.m. PT, Tues., April 21, 2009

NEWARK, N.J. - A nationwide group of Latino ministers has a message for illegal immigrants: Stand up, but refuse to be counted in the 2010 U.S. census.

The National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders is urging undocumented immigrants to boycott the census — which is used to calculate everything from federal funding to congressional representation — unless Congress first passes immigration reform.

"The same data that helps the Latino community to seek political empowerment, the same numbers that are used to show how strong we are and prove our growing numbers, that's the same data the anti-immigrant forces use against us," the Rev. Miguel Rivera, the head of the coalition, said Tuesday.

I disagree with the questions about race, religion, etc. being legal. So by "avoiding", I mean either ignoring it outright or only answering the legal part but leaving the illegal questions blank.

What is your strategy for avoiding the 2010 census?

Wire your front door to spray the intruder with an incapacitating agent.  Use a wheelbarrow to transport the body to your basement operating table.  Strap in every limb securely.  Then -- slowly, calmly, quietly -- make an incision just below the thoracic diaphragm into the right upper quadrant of the abdominal cavity.  Identify the liver, cut, wash, slice, stir-fry.  Fava beans and a nice Chianti ... FTW:lol:

I have a friend who is opposed to the census.  He told me the only question you have to answer is how many human beings live in your home.  All the other questions are an invasion of privacy.  The census people around here will ask about political party affiliation, like the districts aren't gerrymandered enough already.

This reminds me, there used to be people who'd spend their whole lives in houseboats on the Mississippi.

Perhaps I should start doing this on the Great Lakes . . .

I wouldn't be surprised if that were true actually. The government is supposed to be enforcing the immigration laws, but instead they spit on the immigration laws, because there are people inside the government who are working to destroy the USA.
