If I wasn't about to become homeless again, I'd probably play. However, given my computer access will be restricted, I'm sticking to just Kingdom of Loathing for now.

General / Escape from Terra...a Voluntaryist-inspired sci-fi webcomic
« on: February 11, 2013, 01:56:27 PM »
Just found this little gem of a webcomic. Its definitely inspired by great pieces like The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. Interesting reading so far. I'm only still on the first arc, so your guess is as good as mine as to what direction it took. The only thing is that its no longer being updated (which is understandable as real-life intrudes). Its on extended hiatus, but could be back.

Anyway, check it out sometime (if you haven't already).

I would be surprised if it has a higher learning curve than EVE Online. Of course, perma-death is not such a bad thing, though it should be within reason. This sounds like a PVP gank-fest waiting to happen later on when people get bored and start whacking newbies unless the power curve is shallow (most MMOs have an extreme power curve).

What I find hilarious is the notion that Rand was slamming his Dad. The two tweets had nothing to do with one another and is just more media spin. Not that I agree with what Rand said. Anyone known as The Devil of Ramadi should not necessarily be held up as a hero. Also, I thought the NeoCon Holy Rites say that only a Veteran can criticize another Veteran......

And so were the straight men I've known.

:points to his post:

I am agreeing with you. Saying that gay men are always promiscuous is a stupid assumption, just as saying that men only/always want sex. Its one of those things that everyone thinks is axiomatic but is really just stupidly embedded morality (Original Sin in another form) of our culture.

I dunno man. Sometimes I just want a cheeseburger and GTFO.

Heh, okay, let me be more specific. I am saying that its a 'commonly held assumption'. Thing is its just that: an assumption. A rather moronic one when you even spend a few minutes researching human mating and why men/women are wired different.

"The gay people I've know were always promiscuous."

Might go hand in hand with the idea that Men always/only want sex.

Yea, I'm calling bullshit. The Columbia was struck by high altitude/edge of space lightning (what some refer to as mega-lightning, basically a massive plasma discharge event).

Anyway, you can't force someone to be gay or straight. That is something that has been proven time after time.

True, but confusion CAN occur with childhood sexual abuse.

I'm reading the second book now (almost finished) and definitely its interesting. The characters are fairly compelling. Never saw the series and not really interested in such. Its way too High Medieval for my tastes from what I can see, which is one of the few gripes I have about the books. I'm more of a Germanic Heroic Myth than Le Morte D'Arthur fan.

General / Beautiful Agony: Facettes de la Petit Mort

Managed to come across this because of a poster over a the Menage a 3 webcomic forums. What can I say but this is AWESOME! At least the free previews I've managed to see. Sadly, its a 'Pay' website. Incredibly, its very erotic to see gals/guys getting off (or at least a reasonable facsimile thereof) without actually showing anything. I mean you can tell some of the gals are really busty without actually showing too much, but other than that, nothing is decidedly naughty.

Beauty.

And while she looks young in the face, I would eat my hat if she were under 18.

Ah, you didn't watch the video.

Heh, yea, I actually did. My reply was more your (pedo) label.:P

Interesting stuff. I've only recently become interested in Evolutionary Biology/Psychology especially as it relates to human mating etc.

Eh...I hate the usage that Pedophilia (attraction to pre-pubescent) has gained in the modern age. What most men are, in point of fact, attracted to are young adult women (post-pubescent). Hebephilia is the proper term.

Piers vs Alex Jones: THE RESPONSE HEARD AROUND THE WORLD!

I truly expect one day for Bill Hicks to come out and say "Yea, Alex Jones is a character I created...."
