General / Cash into Coins no longer accepting cash!
« on: February 07, 2014, 09:40:26 AM »
I just went to make a transaction with Cash into Coins. Oddly I couldn't figure out how to deposit cash into their bank account. The only clue I found was a twitter announcement from them:

If you are purchasing coins, make sure to pay attention to the NEW INFORMATION-we are no longer accepting cash deposits for the time being.

The only option is to send a check along with a copy of photo ID.

General / Re: What kind of motorcycle should I get?

Nice pick for a first bike! When I started the thread I was going to chime in and say a 250cc is too small! You should get several years out of that bike.

I started on an old KZ-440. It quickly became too small. At highway speed I often felt like the wind was pushing me around too much. I have a Kawasaki Nomad 1500 now. The safety course is the best decision you could make.

General / Electioneering at a School
« on: March 31, 2010, 11:53:44 PM »
Tonight I went to my towns school budget hearing/infomercial. It was somewhat encouraging in how many were there that were against the proposed 9.88% tax hike. Although the total crowd number was smaller than the meetings over mandatory student drug testing.

I cut out of the meeting early and stood in the parking lot handing out signs. After several hours a truck pulled up and picked up a sign, I thought he just wanted a sign for himself. He then walked in front of me and gathered up all of my signs that were on the ground. I told him that was my property and he handed them back to me (including the first sign that was already in his truck. I walked around a bit giving out more signs while a group of three administrators started to gather. The budget meeting was over so I walked back to my car and put the signs I had left away. One of the men was taking a picture of my car license plate. After putting the signs away I walked up to them and introduced myself. The refused to identify themselves, I only got one first name (Pat). They accused me of breaking the law for putting up signs. (I had not actually put up any signs, however I did set many down near where I was standing). They told me to go home before they call the police. I was done at that time so I went back to my car and told them to have a nice evening as I passed by. When I approached their vehicles I slowed down to note their license plate numbers (for no reason other than to annoy them). (sorry no pictures or videos taken!)

Its sickening that the school will intentionally misuse school resources to electioneeer for the school budget through robo-calls and student indoctrination, yet if I electioneer on public property its treated as illegal.

This budget increase will result in an average of an $860 increase for the average homeowner!
