I'm a fan of the series "Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman." One of the episodes I have on my DVR right now is "Can We Eliminate Evil?"

It was a particularly well-done episode that discusses human behavior and the human brain, with regard to evil and psychopathy. It even wanders into socialism (without saying so) and fascism (without pointing a finger at the US.) It ends with positive notes about violence decreasing. A researcher actually used cooperation and violence in the same sentence. What's cool about that is that it wasn't stated in the context of government coercion being a positive, but the implication seemed to be there that it was a negative (though he did refer to "the rule of law" as a positive, which seems to be an interesting point of discussion amongst self-described libertarians.) I found the show fascinating.

After I posted that, I saw the very end, the closing by Morgan Freeman. It disturbingly referenced, positively, the possibility of identifying people prone to violence and "stopping them" before they do evil, which I still consider an evil concept, regardless of what we supposedly "know."

Just found this thing on PuffItUp.com. It "automatically" makes butter/oil/tincture. I'd been looking for a simple way to get exactly the right temps for tincture, and hell, at their discount price, it just isn't worth it. The added benefit is it does oils and butter too, so no more straining the water out of butter either. This thing looks awesome and gets great reviews, so I can't wait until it arrives.

Normal price is not cheap, at $175 but given what it is, I can understand it. I got it for $133.44, which is their price ($157) minus 15% summer discount code (summer.) I didn't see a better price from a "legit" source (I.E., warranty covered.)

Give how much time I fucked with filtering, re-reading documentation so I don't screw up, etc., it's a bargain...and no, I'm not getting anything for the plug. I'm just happy to hear someone designed the thing. I predict it's one of many products we'll see as pot gets more mainstream (i.e. "legal.")

It's a pretty clean illustration of a pretty clean (Glock) design. Actually, looks like a variation (it has a firing pin--whereas the Glock action has a striker--been a while since I've fully stripped one, though.)

Yeah, I'm not to hot on using the postal service, and I heard the couriers are their bitches. I'm not looking forward to driving through states like Utah, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, etc. with anything at all. This is especially due to the way things have gone over the past couple years, and today, in particular. A Colorado license plate is basically an invitation to cook up an excuse for a search.

I've heard from various sources that it's less risky to mail pot than it is to travel with it. So where the hell are you supposed to mail it? I'm guessing mailing it to your hotel room isn't a good idea. Then there's the matter of the return address....

Has anyone here ever done this, or known someone who does?

It used to be relatively safe to travel with baked goods, I used to just toss cookies in tupperware and throw them in the cooler. I'm told that since Colorado A64, cops in other states are harassing drivers in cars with Colorado plates. I'm considering an electric cooler in the trunk. I don't smoke, nor do I wander around with raw pot in my car, so I'm guessing it's unlikely I'll be found out through 4th-amendment-respectful methods...not sure about a dog (don't know what there IS to smell.)

I've been thinking if things got bad enough, I'd rig something into the console which would allow me to dump the small amount I'd have if stopped. Not sure if/how that would work, exactly. Also not sure if I can coax myself to do the actual dumping. If it was recreational, I'd just leave it at home...but it's not.

I think Reddit is far superior for doing show prep than the Digg/Reddit clone thing that was hacked into the FTL site.  The FTL-hosted prep section was a hot mess and super buggy.  I also haven't experienced many of the "stop doing that" messages from Reddit, but I don't submit a ton of comments all at once very frequently.

The point was that I was new to Reddit and had very low privileges, because it didn't ask me to validate my email address, and I bumped up against those low privileges because I might come to the show prep area once a week and do a week's "business" at one time. FYI, that isn't an issue any more.

Actually, I found out it wanted me to verify my email address. Funny how it never sent an email asking me to verify my email address until I got around to posting a question to AskReddit.

So, people having this issue--THAT is what the issue is. (Dipshit designers that cannot ask for what they want--big surprise.)

In specific answer to your sarcasm, it was expecting me to wait something like eight minutes between comments. If I read posts in the Show Prep section, I'm going to do it infrequently and spend some time doing it, and I'm likely going to leave more than one comment every eight minutes or so...possibly three in five minutes, or something "abusive" like that.

Once again, Reddit is complete bullshit, and I wouldn't use it at all if it hadn't been sucked into my life via FTL show prep.
