Even after creating a reddit account and signing in on it still couldn't get my link to post to be voted up or down.  Please if someone could post this I would appreciate it.  There is a limited time that a documentary is being made available for free streaming to the public.  It concerns how corporations and government corruption in the creation of the medical industrial complex.  I think there will be some who may be interested.  Mark Edge more so than most.    http://boughtmovie.net/free-viewing/?AFFID=197258

General / Reasons to Hate Bill Gates and refuse the use Microsoft OS
« on: March 14, 2011, 06:04:24 PM »
Yeah there are a lot of Liberal Commie I hate successful corporation flawed logic arguments floating out there against MS and Gates.  But on the flip side there are legitimate reasons to not want to do business with the guy.

I would like some assistance in compiling a list of reasons to not want to do business with Bill Gates.  Please in the interest of letting other people contribute only list one reason per post.  It will make it easier for people to add to the reason or argue against it.

1.  Instead of funding a stem cell research facility voluntarily.  Gates uses his money to fund a political campaign to put taxpayers on the hook for stem cell research funding in California.  The campaign gave voters the false impression that they were voting on making stem cell research legal.

General / New Hampshire is in a Debt crisis.
« on: December 28, 2010, 03:47:21 AM »
http://newhampshire.watchdog.org/6741/stop-state-debt-growth-before-it-becomes-next-crisis/

"New Hampshire’s debt is not obscene by Washington standards but it certainly isn’t good. Because each state uses somewhat different accounting methods, comparisons between states are not precise. However, a study by the American Legislative Exchange Council uses federal census data and found New Hampshire’s debt burden places it in the bottom ten in the country. By their estimation, we’ve declined over the last two editions of their study from 36th to 44th –only six states are more debt burdened than we are."

Can't this debt problem hurt the FSP?

General / Obama signs bill to outlaw supplements and alternative health
« on: October 12, 2010, 10:08:17 AM »
I don't know how this issue totally slipped past people but the bill was signed into law two weeks or so ago.  I submitted the article to show prep. today.

Just imagine now how expensive buying a multi-vitamin is going to be.   Forget getting those omega 3 supplements to help boost your LDL and prevent heart disease.   There are three potential reasons for this legislation.  The most likely is to protect pharmaceutical and medical care profits.  Less likely is to make the population sicker and weaker.   Also not as likely but some people think this legislation is intended to speed up the deaths of baby boomers and elderly.   While the last two are suspected the evidence mostly points to medical provider greed among the big pharma and AMA.

General / How Old is Too Old to have a baby? And explain your answer
« on: September 15, 2010, 01:09:15 AM »
Recent years hollywood women are getting pregnant and giving birth at later and later ages.

John Travolta and Kelly Preston share their 'wonderful secret'... she's pregnant again at 47
Nicole Kidman first time pregnant at 40
Madonna had a son at 42
Roseann Barr had a son at the age of 45 (?)
Jane Seymour at 44 had twins
Susan Sarandon had a baby at 46
Cheryl Tiegs had her last child at the age of 52
Geena Davis gave birth at the age of 48

There are other political implications for this trend.  Older moms run a higher risk of having damaged kids that potentially can be a strain on society.  If you want to speculate on the hypothetical will governments use that information to set a maximum age on motherhood?  Or will it lead to legalize euthanasia of profoundly disabled?  Keep in mind maternal age is not the only cause for handicapped children.

General / All Terrorists are Muslims…Except the 94% that Aren’t
« on: September 15, 2010, 12:25:12 AM »
This is an article appeared on Loonwatch  January 2010.

All Terrorists are Muslims…Except the 94% that Aren’t

CNN recently published an article entitled Study: Threat of Muslim-American terrorism in U.S. exaggerated; according to a study released by Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, “the terrorist threat posed by radicalized Muslim-Americans has been exaggerated.”

Yet, Americans continue to live in mortal fear of radical Islam, a fear propagated and inflamed by right wing Islamophobes.  If one follows the cable news networks, it seems as if all terrorists are Muslims.  It has even become axiomatic in some circles to chant: “Not all Muslims are terrorists, but nearly all terrorists are Muslims.” Muslims and their “leftist dhimmi allies” respond feebly, mentioning Waco as the one counter example, unwittingly affirming the belief that “nearly all terrorists are Muslims.”

But perception is not reality.  The data simply does not support such a hasty conclusion.  On the FBI’s official website, there exists a chronological list of all terrorist attacks committed on U.S. soil from the year 1980 all the way to 2005.

General / Smuggled out footage and testimony of Gaza Flotilla raid.
« on: August 28, 2010, 09:36:16 AM »
Israeli ambassador to the US Michael Oren said that his government refuses international investigation into the attack on the Freedom Flotilla in international waters.   Does anyone really think that Israel is going to actually investigate anything or are they going to whitewash and release torrents of propaganda?  Actually testimony and smuggled out footage.  Part 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tlkj7gUl0wc&feature=related Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuODT3cPSGU&feature=related

IDF attempted to jam signals and they confiscated video equipment and footage.  If Israel had wanted to investigate the contents of the ship and had nothing to hide.  They could have done so in the daylight with all cameras free to document all the events.

Testimony of Alex Hamilton on a small boat which was part of the flotilla.   Her testimony is compelling and totally contradicts Israel's propaganda.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWVSsI_mSzA

Testimony of Iranian born, Female American Lawyer Journalist who smuggled out extra footage of the flotilla raid.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUP5NftOjwo&feature=related

Last but not least Israeli's admit to doctoring some of their footage of the raid.  Video also contains British calls for independent investigation into the incident.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woIuFRL1Q6g&feature=related

(I have posted youtube videos in the past there seems to be a failure in the bbs's youtube functionality.)

This series of Bible Stories reminds me of the old Fractured Fairy Tales cartoons I use to love as a kid.  So far there are only 8 episodes but I expect there will be more.  The bible is just too full of source material.

General / A Linux question for Linux users.
« on: August 20, 2010, 05:34:37 AM »
If Linux is suppose to be a way to get away from MS OS then why does a Linux system need MS OS on the hard drive?  How is that sticking it to the Man Mr. Gates?  Cause you are still stuck buying his software.  Is there such a thing as a purely Linux OS computer?

General / What is with laugh tracks on TV Shows? (+ The IT Crowd)
« on: August 13, 2010, 07:50:21 AM »
Is there some sort of psychology involved that people need a laugh track in order to laugh at the jokes on TV shows?
Personally there are shows I really like that frankly over use the laugh track and I find that annoying.

Just recently I discovered, "The IT Crowd," so I down loaded the free preview and started watching the show.  Having been part of the British workforce, if only for a brief time, in an IT capacity obviously I think the show is brilliant.  But I am really annoyed by the damned laugh track.   Which made me realize that most shows way over use the laugh tracks.

General / US questions its unwavering support for Israel
« on: July 05, 2010, 04:09:30 PM »
Missing headline from American News Sources.  This article is from the UK Guardian.

There are questions that rarely get asked in Washington. For years, the mantra that America's intimate alliance with Israel was as good for the US as it was the Jewish state went largely unchallenged by politicians aware of the cost of anything but unwavering support.

But swirling in the background when Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, arrives in Washington tomorrow to patch up relations with the White House will be a question rarely voiced until recently: is Israel ‑ or, at the very least, its current government ‑ endangering US security and American troops?

Netanyahu would prefer to be seen as an indispensable ally in confronting Islamist terror. But his insistence on building Jewish settlements in East Jerusalem, which is causing a deep rift with Washington, is seen as evidence of a lack of serious interest in the establishment of a viable Palestinian state. That in turn is seen as fuelling hostility towards the US in other parts of the Middle East and beyond, because America is perceived as Israel's shield.

At least some are starting to realize that the Lukid led Israeli government is harming the USA national interest.

Google alerts has made is so much easier to combat the false racist claims.  It would be a cold day in Mecca before the MSM reported many of these riots.  If I wanted to bother I could have added all the religious violence which was not Muslim or perpetrated by people who were non-Muslim.   However, this is enough to prove that riots happen and there is more than just Muslims causing riots with riot deaths and injuries.

Here is a list of several under reported riots from around the globe which were not connected to Islam just this past month of 2010.  Approximate dead 126, injured 2385.

General / What is the best over the air Digital TV antenna?
« on: January 04, 2010, 06:39:40 AM »
Earlier this year we ditched cable tv as it was getting ridiculously expensive.  Have an acceptable high speed internet replacement but still the tv reception is crap.

Using a mid range directional tv antenna in the attic we get all the major channels with varying success.

Made a home made digital antenna which was kind of cool but extremely ugly and didn't do much better than our big attic antenna.

Is anyone else attempting to stick it to Turner and Satellite utilizing only over the air broadcasts?  If so have you found an excellent rig for getting the best reception?  Please share if you have.

I am thinking an omni directional antenna.   Just don't want to waste a bunch of cash experimenting kind of defeats the purpose of ditching cable.
