3 Contempt of Court charges, 90 days in prison, 10 days in prison for failure to pay fines for said charges.

They used the hammer. Well, that will cost Ian a hell of a lot more than the couple hundred bucks the violation would have.

I dunno if I should feel bad for him or not. I mean, I assume that this is what he wanted to happen. So I guess, good for him? I still feel bad for him though.

Ambivalence is weird.

According to Porc 411, it was for contempt of court for refusal to stand before they ushered him off to a closed room for a "trial". They put up a video camera, it seems, so it would still be "public". Meh.

well... he put his money where his mouth is. i think thats awesome.

They'll probably be a guard from some of the wackier edges of the FSP movement who shows up and makes sure it isn't "Agressed" against.

Alciere or Jacobs, or someone else from that camp.

Nah I would like to see someone take up a vigil and stay on the couch until Ian is free

if property rights isn't a good enough thing to get arrested over then what is?

guns?  ha. . . I'd like to see even one of you with the same balls.   You'd all gladly hand them over and thank them for taking them from you.

Indeed. I'm a bit upset only in the fact that I think Ian did plan on doing somethign other than going to the clink.

He never even got to the point. He was simply sitting. "All men are created equal" so says the Declaration of independence. The judge didn't stand for Ian, why should Ian stand for the judge? The judge is a douche. I shake people's hands when they offer. He could have given Ian some slack I suppose, I'm not familiar with whatever the hell culture Judge is part of...

I'm not thrilled that Ian is in jail. This is one of those issues that I'm... less than excited about (the standing for the judge part is MUCH more exciting to me than a couch) but I'm VERY curious to see how this chances the dynamic in Keene.

They ushered him off to a private room and put it on the telescreen, perhaps as an affront ot the fellow activists. Ian was talking yesterday about feeling things are different because of the fellow activists and it seems they seperated him on purpose. Will this mean in the future activists will simply stand in front of the court building in the future since there's no longer a semblance of a "public trial"? Since even that vestiage and appearance is now gone, will they even play this game again?
