How We Decide
, by Jonah Lehrer
Spellbound
, by Larry Correia. Book 2 of Grimnoir Chronicles - Audiobook read by Bronson Pinchot.
A Long Way From Chicago
by Richard Peck is the current 5th grade book club choice. I cannot say enough good things about it. If you have kids, read it with them. If you don't have kids, read it and recommend it to your friends who have kids. Each chapter is a summer trip of two city children to spend time with their grandmother in a small town during the depression. She's independent and guided by her own (very strong) moral compass, to the point of being criminal, but only because the laws are stupid. It's hilarious, and I'm having a blast reading it with DD.
4/5 of the way through a re-read of the Game of Thrones series.
Just finished
A Few Degrees From Hell: The 2003 Badwater Ultramarathon
(Stories from finishers and a few who didn't make it - holy crap! those people are amazingly tough.)

Just finished reading
The History of Western Philosophy
by Bertrand Russel. Its a thick, comprehensive book. Totally not a weekend reader. Its harder to digest than a Russian novel.
That said, it had its moments. The book was dripping with Russel's condescension. It was very informative, and moderately thorough. Russel shows his biases pretty openly, and despite being a logician, some of his "insights" were kinda weak. It doesn't always stay on target either, and was largely written during WWII, which makes his views on capitalism, socialism, and fascism more interesting.
I don't know if I would recommend it. I guess its pretty good for an introduction to philosophy, but be forewarned, its not an easy read.

Just finished the Hunger Games trilogy. Now I can borrow another book using Prime.
I get the feeling that the author was really disillusioned with Obama on a number of issues, but particularly with his failure to deliver on expectations of being anti-war.

Did she write the whole series that quick? Since the Obama administration started I mean.

I am currently reading a series from Orson Scott Card, the "Alvin Maker" series, I'm a huge fan of his work and have read most of his books. One of his most recent ones, Pathfinder, was one of my favorites.
