I was in Manchester, bringing my wife to Immigration to get hassled and interrogated and robbed.
I was driving along Canal Street and had to turn around. In Nashua, the signs saying you can't make a U turn are on the traffic island next to you. On Canal St. in Manchester, they're across the intersection, but then so is the traffic light giving me a green left arrow. I made the U turn and got pulled over. I didn't see the sign because it was in the "wrong" location. My car has Ron Paul bumper stickers on it.
"I had the green arrow."
"Yeah, but there's a sign just like that one over there..."
"O-o-o-h."
"Lemme see your license and registration...
You still living at ... in Hudson?"
"Yes. I was looking for Immigration."
"Are you armed today?"
"Nope."
"Sit tight."
The cop did the radio check and let me go, without a ticket, saying "Consider yourself fortunate that I'm sympathetic."
Was that the same Manchester cop I met at the Liberty Forum in Nashua? I dunno. They have to be careful what they say. "Sympathetic" could mean the cop is one of my supporters; but if accused of favoritism the cop can say it means sympathetic to somebody from out of town who didn't notice the sign.
