It saddens me that you equate submissiveness with being lesser of the two. I guess you mean less dominant. Submissiveness is a very positive trait depending on how you look at it. A very submissive person can inspire the dominance in another just as a very dominant person can inspire the submissiveness in someone.
Theres usually a dom/sub thing in romantic relationships.

In platonic relationships, it's more peer-oriented.  Birds of a feather.

Its pretty unusual that you'll see two meglo-doms in a romance, they'll probably clash too hard.   But two subs probably not so uncommon.  They'll probably establish a pecking order among themselves, could go either way.  If it's two subs, the dominant sub is probably determined by default, and the lesser just by bein.. lesser of the two.

Yeah, I meant less dominant, like I said right there.

It would behoove you to stop being a fuckin' asshole.

So, I'm buying a car for pretty much the first time that counts in my life as my car died a couple months ago. Any advice? I have about a grand to spend, just need something to get me to work and back. I have about 1000 to spend (not much sadly).

What if I just get this, and avoid highways? This bike is really old though, but as long as it runs thats what matters right?

For a grand you should get an old XR/XL 650/600/500, or something like this: http://appleton.craigslist.org/mcy/2828612623.html  or this: http://appleton.craigslist.org/mcy/2838162471.html  or: http://appleton.craigslist.org/mcy/2806605220.html

Those are all freeway useable bikes that should last and are pretty cheap and easy to work on and find parts for.  They all should run you about 50 mpg, be capable of cruising at freeway speeds all day long and be pretty reliable.  Insurance should run about 10-20 bucks a month.

I dont have my motorcycle license, but I was kind of just looking at those bikes as a way to bring the cost down since I while having a vehicle for other uses is nice, I really only need this one for my 15 minute commute to work. I'm not sure if I'd want a motorcycle since I'd have to get the license, not necessary for a scooter. I'm just seeing that cars within my price range are so old and junky that I dont even know if its worth buying one just to get a new one as soon as it breaks down.  I'm also thinking with a bike repairs might be cheaper, and I'd be more likely to be able to figure them out myself, since I dont know that much about mechanics.

Any more thoughts?

I have a pretty sweet custom truck I built myself.  And 5 motorcycles.  I never drive my truck. I find driving my truck impinges on my budget due to fuel costs.  And I am very strict with my budget.  50 mpg vs. 20 mpg pretty much settles it for me.  I think the only reason I'm able to afford my continual accumulation of property is due to the fact that I ride the motorcycle every day to work instead of the truck.

Tally up your fuel costs and calculate them over the year and I think you'll be hard pressed to decide not to get the bike, even after paying the state extortion fees for the special license, on a simple financial decision.  That said, it is nice to have an enclosed vehicle for those especially wet and cold days when you're just not feeling like the extra exertion of riding the bike. I do have a soft spot in my heart for those little scooters though, just because they are so fun and small and light.  But I don't see myself buying one any time soon, just because they are not freeway capable, which makes them about next to useless in California.  If it works for you, I think that scooter you picked out is one of the cooler varieties.

Planning ahead for PorcFest - think I may signup to be a vendor as DottieBee, and see if I can't sell some homemade toys, pillows, totes, aprons and (big surprise) felted porcupines. I have some standard animals I make, along with a fondness for creating characters in yarn. Are there any specific characters you guys think I should focus on? Always glad to try and figure out something new. Currently working on Dag and Norbert of Angry Beavers and a dragon. (Which I'll get back to after finishing a couple dozen more mini buns for easter.)

Some examples:
Star Wars (Classic, of course)
Gir
Perry the Platypus
Mini Ninjas and Zombies
Angry Birds
Kirby/Mario
Plants vs. Zombies
Ninja/Zombie Bunnies
Cthulhu

Floss first, so the mouthwash can get around all the gunk between your teeth. OR, just dont brush or floss at all and wait until your teeth rot, then get dentures.

I floss first, but I don't think it makes much of a difference either way, especially if you use mouthwash afterward.

I floss first. If I brush first, then I have to brush again after flossing, because I've loosed gunk on my teeth... I know, the listerine/scope should kill germs, but I can't stand the thought. Dentist told me to stop that - the double brushing was doing bad things for my enamel.

I've wondered this for years, and don't have a good answer. My dad was an agricultural engineer, and he couldn't give me a good answer, nor could my friends wife, who is a soil conservationist. I also asked this of a friend who is a grad student studying something or other about how to feed more people around the world. Nothing doing.

In small tropical islands, sea foam gets everywhere, and makes everything wet. The sea is salty, and the sun evaporates the water, leaving an increasingly toxic level of salts that would be in too high of a concentration for anything to grow. Yet, things do grow on those islands. How?

They also tend to get rainstorms, don't they?  Some of them also have fresh water springs.

Animals love salt. Also, the water cycle means that the water will keep being added to the salty areas.
