Running for Mayor

So I'm going to run for mayor of my city in 2013. It's a small Midwestern city with about 8000 residents, 74% Democrat.
I started going to city council meetings about two years ago and met with the council members and the current mayor, who seemed like nice folks. Last week the mayor appointed me as a member of the City Planning Commission, and it seems my political career is off the ground.
What they may not be aware of is that my political views are based on peace and liberty and that almost everything they call "revenue" I find looks a lot like armed robbery. I also find that most of their expenditures are unnecessary.
We'll see how far I get with this. I just hope I won't end up prison.

Good job. We need more people like you on our side.
Read the Prince by Machiavelli, and it'll give you a good idea of how to hide your feelings while pursuing your goals.

Tread warily through those murky halls and tainted chambers.
