On the plus side...this is bound to birth some new anarchists.
That's what I said in 2001...and 2002...and 2004...then I stopped saying that.
Have there been no new anarchists since 2001?
I haven't seen a remarkable change.
That's a bummer. I am going to try to remain optimistic as long as I can. This could prove to be difficult.
Being an optimist never did anyone any good. Its a big letdown when you get your hopes up about something that doesn't pan out the way you expect it to. I think its best to just look at the facts, remain neutral, then go from there. Seems to be the least stressful path and provides the same results in the end as being an optimist does.

I agree with your statement about controlling one's expectations, but optimism does not imply expectation.

As I think we all hope for ourselves. It's like principled libertarians (or whatever) are in some sort of 12-step program--not so much over our own dysfunction, but the state's.

Heres the way I see it.
If my way of thinking is right, and the way things are run now is unsustainable, theres really nothing to worry about in the long run.
It'll all play itself out on its own without much intervention on anyones part. The important thing is maintaining your own sanity until that happens.

Yes indeed. It's like Al-Anon.

And try and stay out of the cross fire.
