If it's on Netflix streaming and you think folks might like it, link it here. Note to those who don't have Netflix subscriptions, these links won't be as useful to you. I don't know if the link will even work if you're not signed in to Netflix.

The Messenger (http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/The_Messenger/70095143?trkid=8379860) isn't a great movie, but it's good timing for Memorial Day weekend and I liked it. Definite anti-war feel to it.
NOTE: Says it's only available for streaming until June 1st so you only have a couple days.

I'm pretty sure I also saw it running on HBO or Showtime, so you may be able to find it on-demand if you subscribe to them.

Awesome, F'ed up movie!

I watched this because it was in my queue for a while but it's about to stop being available by instant streaming in just a few days. I found it really moving. It seems so easy to be dismissive of welfare queens, but this movie made me feel close to one.

I tend to despise "feel good" movies, but The Worlds Fastest Indian is worth a watch:

I like to watch series compilations.
Just finished watching eight years of The Office. Surprisingly, I hadn't watched most of the episodes.
-
The Life of Reilly was good. It's Charles Nelson Reilly's last performance ever, anywhere I think, but definitely his last stage performance. It's a one-man play by himself about his own life which is pretty interesting. It's only streaming for a few more days.

Accidentally watched this movie. It makes you have a little faith in humanity again. I love old bikes too. I recommend it highly.

I'm not a Netflix member, but I think I saw that on Amazon Prime streaming. It was either The Cartel or The Lottery. Either way, both are excellent and you should watch them. Now I just need Waiting for Superman to become free to watch on Amazon :)

That reminds me...... my Amazon Prime membership is about to expire. Glad you mentioned it.

The Nines (http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/The_Nines/70066350?trkid=2361637)
It's not a bad intro to panentheism.

Cool! I just discovered The Faculty (http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/The_Faculty/18171102?trkid=2692263) is available instant play now! This a really fun and ridiculous teeny-bopper-angsty horror movie.
-
Currently watching Burn Notice on Netflix. Recently I've watched a lot of films on diet and food though.
-
The Shrine is really good. It's one of those movies that turns out to be much more clever than you might at first realize.
-
Has anyone ever seen Thief (1981) starring James Caan?
It's kind of a heist movie but a bit more dramatic and realistic than your typical over the top heist movies.
-

You recommending it? It's only got 2 stars but could be people are comparing to 2012 expectations and car chases and explosions.
Dreamscape is a classic that's available right now.

The Hole (2001 version) was surprisingly good. I was looking for the 2009 version and was a good chunk into the movie wondering when the parts I saw in the trailer were coming. Also wondering about the fact it appeared to be British and was pretty sure I heard no accents in the trailer and knew there were American actors in it that weren't showing up. Felt pretty dim-witted and was probably 2/3 into it before it occurred to me I was probably watching a different movie altogether. It was probably a much better movie than the one I was looking for though. I haven't seen the 2009 movie yet. Working on it. They are two completely different movies that just have the same name.
-
Speaking of The Hole, the one I was originally looking for and have now seen a portion of (the 2009 version), it reminds me of The Gate, but not nearly as good. The Gate is available for instant play apparently.

Watched Super 8
Started out pretty good and I thought to myself "Hmm, why didn't this movie do better?" Then, as the movie progressed, I realized why. Seems like they set up the beginning with a good deal of character development, then just got lazy and said "Eh, fuck it.....i'm tired!" and it fell apart right about the middle mark.
Still, decent movie, but not what the beginning set you up to believe it was gonna be.

Yep. Had a similar impression. Started off seeming like it was going to be a great movie and was just kind of an okay movie.

If you're in the mood for really weird shit, check out Angels & Idiots, animated by Bill Plympton. I seen a lot of really short animations by him. This is a feature film done his style.

I'm pretty sure the stars on Netflix are Netflix's automated guess on whether they think you will like it based on what you have rated. Like on my Netflix it was rated four stars. I'm not quite sure how it works though.

Yeah, that's right. There's a way to see the average rating but I don't remember off the top of my head. It's not hard I don't think.

Insidious has been in my Q for a while. I finally got around to watching it and it was one of those movies I'd never seen a real trailer for or had any particular reason to expect much. It caught me off guard. I ended up really liking it.

This is good advice.

Wow, comedian Bill Burr. He has at least two shows on Netflix streaming, one from 2008 and one very recent. Search for him and watch all of his stuph. He's funny but he also has some really poignant things to say about racism, guns, man/woman relations... I feel confident most of you guys will love him.
-
Found one more Bill Burr video. Haven't watched it yet but looking forward to it.
-
youtube "bill burr yoko ono"........ a man after my own heart.
-
Yuck. For some reason, I find comedy substantially better if it is life. I find it even better if I've had a few. My roommate watches a lot of stand up on Netflix but almost all of it seems boring to me.
I recently enjoyed Hot Times at Montclair High. I doubt most be would like it though. I reminded me of a time slightly before my own. Netflix is fantastic for watching reruns of 30 Rock and Parks and Rec.
-
Dante's Inferno was pretty fucked up, an animated movie. Check it out.
-
Get The Gringo
Story was a little too much like Payback, another Mel Gibson movie. Not too bad though.

As much as I hate this trend of shakey, handheld camera-style movies, I'm enjoying this one despite that. It's pretty creepy.

Grimm Love (http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Grimm_Love/70113530?trkid=8133737) is pretty fucked up. I laughed out loud a couple times.
Picture a guy making an edible mold shaped like a human torso with an erect penis. Then he cuts off the "penis" and bites into it ravenously and says "delicious!"
Later on, guy bites into his own penis on a dinner plate.
"It's too tough. It was supposed to be perfect."
-
Shit, nobody even mentions the House of Cards? The flag is upside down, its calling you.. Kevin Spacey is in it. He throws glass ashtrays and tells people to fuck off, he's an important senator.
Spoiler, he kills people.
Okay, fine, go fuck yourself. Don't watch it.
-

I'm a few episodes in and enjoying it enough so far. It's important to mention that he's a Democrat so they purposefully avoided the "Republicans are evil and Democrats are for the people" stereotype. In fact, the producer/director/notsurewhat said so in an interview that this was quite purposeful.

His affiliation is a veneer, which I think lends a lot of validity to the fiction. It doesn't matter much what he is. He's a calculated motherfucker.

Ya know, I had no intention of watching this show, but the contrarian in me said "No, fuck you!! I'm gonna watch this show. In fact, I'm gonna watch the fuck outta this show and there's nothing you can do to stop me!"
Turns out, it's pretty good.

The new season is out, if anyone hasn't already watched it already ;)

All of the last season of Breaking Bad is also out. Netflix actually emailed me to announce it.
