In China, and India, the practice of sex selective abortions has changed the demographics of the two most populous nations in the world.
What I have always wondered about this is if it will change cultural views on women as they will be harder to find in 20 years, when everyone begins to get married. In India, for example, girls are considered a burden because of the dowry that they must be given with. But in a situation where the relative "price" of women goes up, I don't understand how that could continue.
