What would you do in the Rat situation in stateless society?  If you and the offender both utilized the same DRO?  Would you invite that DRO to do something about it?  Would they?  THAT is "defamation in a stateless society".  It would exist.

I think you addressed Anaphilo's query well.

They would have to be.  Those disputes will arise and someone will fill the need of resolving them without bloodshed.

Hans-Hermann Hoppe says that (state) monopolists in the provision of court services will rationally create disputes in order that they may resolve the disputes in their interests.
