Oh, I'm sure that places huge loads on the CPU.

That doesn't place loads of CPU on the server but it would introduce annoying security problems if you split it across servers, especially if one of them is not under your control.

As for the banner ad, I think the big problem with it is that it pretty much requires a minimum width of 1280 pixels.

BJ: There were already banners up there, this only takes up some empty space and it's a client paying a good chunk of cash.  If you don't run adblock yet, you should try it.

Maybe someone will buy their software or whatever.

The default theme should no longer be available.  Sorry for any inconvenience.  Adblock for firefox is a handy piece of software...

Well, that explains that PHP error. Is there any way to change my Major Jizz/marijuana account to show the standard layout? When I log in through it, it doesn't let me see anything. If that's not possible, can you just delete that old account?

I have disabled the Default theme, so you should be back to Babylon.  Try logging in again and reloading.

I only AMP 'cause of this BBS.

I'm not paying $25 a month to see a huge green annoying banner at the top of every page.

You successfully ignored the other two.  Sensitive to green?

You successfully ignored the other two.

That's because they're nice muted colors and they're small boxes. Not a 600-something pixel wide box of green annoyingness.

I figured you'd thank me for cutting it from 728 to below 650 wide.   :P

Boner Joe

Ian told me that you pulled your platinum AMP because of the banner. So, I thought I would try to explain it to you. Webex is an advertiser that has dedicated $1200 for a month trial on FTL. The banner is part of that trial. FTL is not a service. We don't just try to cover our expenses. we do FTL full time and make our living from it. I quit my 80k a year advertising job in Sarasota 2 years ago to try to grow FTL into something more. I see the potential. It has yet to reach that potential, but with the help of Sakal, Webex and a few more advertisers of that level, we will be there. The banner is not a slight against you nor is it meant to do anything but introduce our listeners/bbsers to a new product. With the money, we will pay living expenses and continue to provide you with the quality that FTL is. Without ad dollars I would be forced to work at another job and likely would not be able to convince my wife that NH is the right place for us to live.

I hope this eplains the motivation to you sufficiently. We appreciate your AMP dollars and wish you would reconsider.

Ian, you should try getting AdamandEve.com to advertise with FTL. It's an online sex toy store. There is another high traffic podcast that has them as a sponsor.

We had them as an advertiser, but we failed to produce the business necessary for them to continue. Keith and the Girl on the other hand has been quite successful for them.

I can't blame Jay for pulling his AMP money...it's not that the banner ad has a bunch of colors or is ugly, it makes the webpage stretch out and that's what's annoying about it.

FTL is not a service.

The AMP program is surely a service, otherwise it wouldn't have perquisites.
