This isn't going to happen.  I don't care how much Ian and Mark want to monetize the BBS - I'll scream and yell about it - just like you'll never see popup ads, or rollover ads with sound...

I'm not entirely fond of the fact that the ad sidebar means that there is now flash on the BBS - but you guys are figuring out how to disable that ... and an AD free BBS may soon be an AMP perk...

The ads really help to cover the cost of the forum that everyone enjoys, and the traffic to this BBS is huge...
I don't mind the ads on the side, but add sound and then I'll start removing them and considering leaving the BBS.  I'm sure I'm not the only one with that opinion.

Thanks for fixing the new forum theme so I can use Babylon with the site header (whoever did it), I think that's perfect for me.

I don't think anyone need worry about us adding sound to the ads.  That shit is obnoxious.

Heres an idea...............

For each ad you have on the side now, instead just have a pop-up ad in its own little box. That way the page viewer is forced to close out about 20 little pop up boxes each time they go to a new page.

Actually, I prefer the popover ads... Ya know the flash ones that slowly scroll in from the top or the side... We'll do 20 or 30 of those...

While we're at it... Why DOES everyone use flash??? It's not processor intesive enough... Let's get some java applet ads

Just make sure those ads are neon colors (yellow, green, pink, blue), flash repeatedly like a strobe light, and cascade like a waterfall. I don't wanna miss them.

I could offer a small JavaScript snippet that reduces the number of ads based on the page height...

Maybe you'll also want to randomly shuffle them for equal exposure?

And maybe keep them fixed on screen so they scroll down with the page?

Oh, and how much would it cost to buy an ad for:

Advertisers pay for positioning, so randomizing would not be good.

I'm thinking Ian and Libman both kinda flew under the humor...

(I'd say the jokes went over some heads, but in this case, I think they limbo'd in under the jokes)
